Actor Vito Molaro died two days ago.
Originally from Tufino (Na), the twenty-six year old suffered from a very serious hereditary form of cystic fibrosis and, on New Year's Day, passed away at the Umberto I hospital in Rome where he had been hospitalized for a few days due to the worsening of his physical condition.
Despite his illness and young age, Vito wanted to become an actor at all costs. He studied acting and improved his skills in Castellammare di Stabia. He had already acted alongside Serena Rossi in “Troppo napoletano”, he had managed to win a small part in “Un posto al sole” and some other minor roles in “San Valentino stories” with Gigi and Ross, Denise Capezza, Rosaria De Cicco, Gennaro Silvestro, Mario Porfito and Gianni Ferreri. He had also participated in Pasquale Palma’s video clip “Tutto apposto”.
The young actor's condition worsened in the last days of the past year. Cystic fibrosis is a serious genetic disease that is quite common and usually manifests itself from birth. It affects the endocrine glands and compromises the life expectancy of those affected. There is no cure, but only treatments that can help keep the progression of the disease under control.
One of his idols was Alessandro Siani and it is with him that the boy published one of his last photographs on Instagram: "Take a smile and give it to those who have never had one. Take goodness and give it to those who do not know how to give. Let's believe that together a dream can come true", he wrote alongside the photo. Vito had always spoken about his battle against the disease, he had also agreed to talk about it in 2015 on the program "Storie vere" on Raiuno.
He was an activist in his town, he organized cultural events through various associations in Tufino and the surrounding area, one of these, the association La Mela, wanted to remember him like this on Facebook: “It shouldn't have ended like this! After an exemplary life spent fighting! You were an example for all those who, despite everything, continued to believe in their ideas and passions. You shared your role as an actor with us in recent years: you were the star of our amateur performances, where with the commitment and dedication you put into everything, you managed to excite with the art you loved so much, the theater. Emotions that this morning have transformed into desperation, emotion and pain in each of us at the news of your premature and sudden passing. We never thought this day would come, nor so soon. Now up there, delight them with one of your pieces: we were honored to go on stage with you because in the script of life you certainly played the best part. Vito Molaro you will always be one of us and the moments spent together will live in our hearts for the rest of our days. You were great in this life until the end”.
