A 33-year-old and a 54-year-old man from Lusciano were arrested for attempted aggravated theft. The two men, already known to law enforcement for several previous convictions, were caught red-handed inside a company in Avellino, currently in bankruptcy and under seizure.
The facts occurred yesterday afternoon: during a patrol, having noticed unusual movements and heard strange noises, the Carabinieri of the Andretta station caught the two men busy loading a cabin from a lorry that was parked there onto a truck, after having dismantled it with an oxyacetylene torch.
The intervention of a second patrol from the Calitri station then allowed the two crooks to be stopped and arrested and the stolen goods to be recovered, which were seized together with the vehicle and the tools used in the attempted theft.
Taken to the barracks, after the ritual checks, the two arrested, by order of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Avellino, were held in the holding cells of the Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi company, awaiting their appearance this morning before the Court to be judged with the formula of the direct trial.
