A snack with bread and Nutella can now be enjoyed on the go, thanks to the partnership between McDonald's Italy and Ferrero. To celebrate World Nutella Day, McCrunchy Bread with Nutella was previewed in Milan, Rome, Bari, and Naples. It will be available starting February 12th in all 600 McDonald's restaurants across Italy. The new sandwich is designed with simplicity in mind: just bread and Nutella, freshly prepared and served hot. On February 5th, the World Day dedicated to Nutella fans, many people were able to preview it at four McDonald's restaurants in Milan (Piazza Duomo), Rome (Piazza di Spagna), Naples (Via Merliani), and Bari (Corso Vittorio Emanuele). In just one hour, 1.000 were consumed in Milan, 600 in Rome, 400 in Bari, and 500 in Naples. "Working with a company like Ferrero has been exciting for us," said Mario Federico, CEO of McDonald's Italy. "What we're introducing today is a permanent product that will remain. Starting February 12th, it will be available in all 600 of our restaurants, and let's remember that we serve 1 million people a day." McDonald's estimates it will sell over 6 million sandwiches a year, and it's possible that McCrunchy Bread with Nutella could find its way beyond Italy "to many European countries and even around the world," Federico added. Bread and Nutella "is one of the most typical combinations of Italian breakfasts and snacks. Something simple and accessible to everyone. Something we grew up with and that has accompanied us throughout our lives," commented Alessandro d'Este, CEO of Ferrero Commerciale Italia. "Something associated with moments of joy, family, and sharing. With McDonald's, we thought about how to make it possible for all those who love this simple food not to have to give it up just because they're out and about." After the preview, the next stop is February 14th, Valentine's Day: McCrunchy Bread with Nutella will be available all day at a special price, and from 15 to 17 p.m., it will be free for couples who show up at all McDonald's locations in Italy.
