As part of the 'Wanted 3' project, promoted by the Central Operations Service of the Police and aimed at capturing fugitives deemed most worthy of investigative interest, following a complex investigation carried out in collaboration with the International Police Cooperation Service (Interpol), French police authorities at Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport today executed the European arrest warrant for the extradition of fugitive Juan Testa, sentenced to 6 years and 2 months in prison for aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping, and personal injury. Testa, a retail entrepreneur in Padua, "had committed the serious crimes reported above against one of his employees," according to a statement from the State Police. Wanted since 2010 after escaping from house arrest, he was included in the list of the most dangerous fugitives. The arrest is the result of a targeted and in-depth investigative effort initiated by the SCO and the Flying Squad of Padua, with the active collaboration of Interpol, which made it possible to trace the wanted man in Taiwan.
The intensification of the info-investigative activity had, in fact, allowed to trace the movement of monetary flows, in favor of the fugitive, consisting of significant amounts of money mainly sent to Taiwan by his parents for his sustenance. The investigations had allowed to ascertain that the fugitive in question, before taking refuge in Taiwan, had lived in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. An intense analysis activity on open sources had allowed the Italian investigators to identify the commercial activity that the fugitive had opened in Taoyuan, concerning the organization of musical events and the rental of professional equipment for concerts and private parties. Following contacts with the State Police, the Taiwanese authorities expelled Testa who, in the meantime, had been subjected to criminal proceedings in that country for crimes committed there.
