Wearing masks, taking temperatures on the subway, exercising alone and outdoors, and staggering outings by age. These are the options being developed ahead of May 4th, when the government will decide how and by how much to ease the lockdown. Nightclubs will certainly remain closed, and they will be the last to reopen. Cinemas and theaters remain at the bottom of the list, while measures are being considered for museums. Schools aren't expected to reopen until September, but summer camps are being explored to support families. FASHION AND FURNITURE – While some large companies, with union agreements, are already reopening, the government could give the green light, following INAIL guidelines on less risky jobs, to the reopening of other manufacturing activities as early as the last week of April. These would include: automotive, furniture, textiles and leather goods, and mineral extraction. There is discussion about reopening construction sites because it is more difficult to ensure social distancing.

BARS, RESTAURANTS, SHOPS – Whether and when to reopen bars and restaurants, as well as shops that are currently closed, is a hotly debated topic in the government and among experts. Some are calling for consideration of reopening with strict distancing rules and limited entry starting May 4. But those who are holding back now prevail: openings are more likely from mid- to late-May. Strict rules are also being studied for hairdressers and beauticians. SCHOOLS AND COURTS – Schools should not reopen before September. Courts will start on May 11. TRANSPORT – The Ministry of Transport is working with experts to study how to minimize risks in travel for those who have to go to work. One-way routes, reduced seats on board and temperature checks for access to the subway are being considered. Signage on the ground in train stations and bus stops to create orderly lines with safe distancing. Mechanisms – through on-board personnel or digital tools – to count the people who board each bus and, in this case too, seats to be occupied marked one by one. Limited seats and a stop to crowding on trains too. There is the possibility of plexiglass partitions for taxis. SPORTS AND PARKS – Gyms closed for a long time yet, but outdoor sports, as long as they are done alone, and jogging could be allowed from May 4th even away from home. The possibility of introducing time slots for runners is being considered. For athletes, there could be a return to individual training, as long as it is done in safe conditions. As for parks, children's games should also reopen, but with some rules. GARDENS AND BEACH RESORTS – With two FAQs (answers to frequently asked questions), the government has already given the green light to the care of gardens and maintenance in beach resorts. It is also possible to move from one municipality to another to take care of your own garden or land, declaring that you are cultivating for self-production: the ban remains for gardens in second homes. Beaches remain closed to the public but staff can access the establishments for surveillance or maintenance. In the meantime, measures for the summer are being studied: among the hypotheses there is also that of limited access to the beaches.
