There are also the Neapolitan Camorra clans in the blitz "shoes" because the drug was called in a cryptic way with the name of famous shoe companies that led to the arrest of 25 people, four of whom were under house arrest. One was linked to the group of the Bakù chalet in Scampia and the other to the cartel of the ancient center of Castellammare di Stabia led by Catello Gargiulo known as Nello Marijuana.
DTwo criminal organizations dedicated to drug trafficking have been busted by the Catania financial police. The two groups are accused of having favored the Santapola-Ercolano family and of having weapons at their disposal. One, according to the Catania DDA, was led by Giuseppe Vasta, 32, who obtained his hashish and heroin from the Maggiore brothers, one of whom, Alfio Giuseppe, 32, among those arrested, performs as a neomelodic singer under the name of 'Graziano'. Vasta, who reconstructs the DDA even when he was in prison led the group through directives given by telephone to his wife, also had contacts with Neapolitan suppliers who, in honor of a drug dealing square in Scampia, chalet Baku', had nicknamed him 'Baku'. Among his suppliers was also a group from Castellamare di Stabia for cocaine, which included Catello Gargiulo, 46 years old, known as 'Nello Marijuana', others in the Catania area, between Scordia and Militello, and in Lazio through two Albanians, Klodian Shkrela, 36 years old, and Rodolf Sotiri, 37.
The second group at the center of the investigations of the Gdf of the Pef, Gico and Goa Nucleus, is the one led by Sebastiano Sozzi, 38 years old, known as 'Davide', who procured cocaine and crack from Catania and Calabrians and ran the business with his wife, Silvana Mirabella, 40 years old, in charge of accounting and dividing the drugs into doses. Sozzi, according to the Catania Dda, was also responsible for sending money to the families of prisoners of the 'Santapaola-Nizza' clan. The 'Shoes' investigation arose from the continuation of the 'Stop and Go' operation in May 2019 with the arrest of 16 suspects by the Catania Guardia di Finanza. During the new military investigations of the Fiamme Gialle they seized drugs worth 2,5 million euros and various weapons of war such as an Ak47 Kalashnikov machine gun and four pistols. The investigating judge of Catania, accepting the request of the DDA, also ordered the precautionary seizure of the 'Bar Rocher' attributable to Giuseppe Vasta, whose value is estimated at 200 thousand euros.
In the first tranche it was discovered that he was supplied by the Maggiore brothers - one of them, Graziano, was a well-known neomelodic singer - and the drugs were then resold in the Catania neighborhoods of Librino, San Cristoforo and Villaggio Sant'Agata. Investigators found that Vasta was supplying cocaine with traffickers from Castellammare di Stabia Catello Gargiulo, known as Nello Marijuana. A second channel was represented by suppliers between Scordia and Militello, in the Catania area, presented by the Straniero brothers and Gaetano Sessa Dammone, caught in 2017 with 10 kilos of marijuana; finally, a third supply chain had its operational base in Lazio and was represented by a group of Albanians Klodian Shkrela and Rodolf Sotiri. In two years of investigation, in addition to large quantities of seized drugs, a very powerful arsenal with Kalashnikovs, revolvers and drugs was discovered in 2017. The Guardia di Finanza also seized the Rocher bar on Via Acquicella, which was actually owned by Vasta. The Guardia di Finanza's investigations also allowed them to x-ray Davide Sozzi's group, supported by his wife Silvana Mirabella, who had been entrusted with the accounting. Sozzi, according to investigators, managed some of the most flourishing drug dealing areas, including the one on Via Alogna in San Cristoforo, entrusted to Turi Amato, husband of Grazia Santapaola, who called herself the "Blue Blood" of the Mafia due to her relationship (cousin) with the boss Nitto. With the money from drug sales, Sozzi, among other things, paid the salaries of the members of the Nizza group in prison, who were linked to the Santapaolas.
