Anti-Covid bracelet for vacationers: a Bari-based start-up launches 'Labby Light': a device that will warn when safety distances from other users are not respected and capable of reconstructing the personal contacts of the user who tests positive in full respect of privacy and without an app.
IThe device was launched on the market by a Bari-based start-up, MetaWelness, specializing in sports and fitness technologies. “Labby Light”, this is the name, is an innovative product based on patented technology capable of containing Covid-19 infections and offering a concrete contribution to the fight against coronavirus. The “Labby Light” bracelet has a dual function – explains MetaWellness – on the one hand, through a LED and a vibration, it signals to the wearer the failure to respect the minimum safety distance of 1 meter from other users, on the other, if the user were to test positive for coronavirus, it reconstructs all contacts with other people, thanks to a system that safely stores useful data, thus allowing potential outbreaks to be quickly isolated. Unlike other solutions, it uses proprietary wireless protocols and patented technology that makes it immune to external disturbances with the certainty of measuring contact with other people. A versatile product, also available in a "stick" version to keep in your bag, pocket or belt, which does not require the use of an App and which will land in the coming weeks on Italian beaches: several beach resorts have already shown interest in the product and are evaluating its adoption. The bracelet (in full compliance with health and hygiene regulations) can in fact be provided to visitors upon entry to beach resorts and accommodation facilities such as hotels, residences, holiday villages, etc., and then returned upon leaving the facility. In addition to warning in the event of failure to respect the minimum distances, if a customer of such facilities were to test positive for coronavirus, it will be possible to reconstruct the proximity contacts had in the same environment - thanks to an identification code ID that respects the user's privacy - and immediately block the spread of infections and the emergence of possible outbreaks. “Labby Light” can also be adopted within private companies, commercial establishments and various businesses, in order to guarantee the safety of workers and allow the reopening of activities in full compliance with current provisions.
