The Caserta State Police arrested 9 people believed to be responsible, to varying degrees, for mafia-style criminal association, extortion, possession and dealing of narcotics, as well as carrying and possession of firearms, including altered ones, with related ammunition.
According to investigators, these are the "new recruits" of the Belforte Camorra clan, active in the Maddaloni area (Caserta). The crimes were committed between 2017 and 2019 and are considered to be aggravated by the mafia method as they were carried out by taking advantage of the conditions of subjugation and silence and in order to facilitate the clan in asserting its supremacy over the territory.
