Almost four and a half million Italians will return to work tomorrow. The 'second phase' begins, that of the easing of the lockdown. Yesterday the corrections to the Dpcm by Palazzo Chigi, today the circular from the Viminale. The 'restart' must take place with the utmost caution, they repeat in the government. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte wrote a message to Italians on his Facebook page:
Tomorrow, phase 2 of the emergency will begin, that of living with the virus. It will be a new page that we will have to write all together, with trust and responsibility. Until now, most citizens have been sheltered in their homes. Starting tomorrow, over 4 million Italians will return to work, will travel by public transport, many companies and factories will restart. And there will be many more opportunities for possible contagion, which we will be able to avoid only thanks to an even greater sense of responsibility. Like never before, the future of the country will be in our hands. Collaboration, civic sense and respect for the rules will be needed even more from everyone. We will have to always keep the bar of attention high, continue to maintain interpersonal distance, wear a mask when and where necessary, and wash our hands often and carefully. The more scrupulous we are in observing the safety instructions, the sooner we will be able to regain other spaces of freedom. Let's not squander what we have laboriously earned in fifty days.
We will all have to change the country's gear together. With caution, decisive and determined to move forward but without risking stopping the engine. There is no right recipe to guarantee the restart without thinking first of all about the health and safety of all of us. I am confident, together we will make it”.
