Designer Clothes from Türkiye and China: Ten Pretrial Detention Orders in Campania for Criminal Association and Forgery.
Since the early hours of the morning, the Finance Police of the Naples Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza have been executing a precautionary custody order issued by the Naples investigating judge against 10 individuals (nine Italians and one foreigner). Four of them have been placed under house arrest, two have been banned from residing in Campania, and four have been ordered to report to the judicial police. The individuals are considered seriously suspected of criminal conspiracy to produce and sell counterfeit products, commercial fraud, the sale of industrial products with false markings, and receiving stolen goods. The investigations coordinated by the Naples DDA have uncovered a criminal organization with access to supply channels, including from abroad (Turkey and China), and a dense physical and online distribution network spread throughout the provinces of Naples, Bologna, Caserta, Salerno, and Rome. The products, identical to the originals, were sold in multi-brand stores and outlets or online, thus defrauding unsuspecting consumers both in Italy and abroad. To procure the goods from abroad, the syndicate had its own direct contact, with a specific criminal record, permanently resident in Istanbul, from where he managed relations with Turkish suppliers.
For internet trading, the association could count on an operational headquarters in Nocera Inferiore where it had offices equipped with IT tools, a real call center for telephone contact with customers and an attached warehouse and showroom, from where the trafficking of counterfeit clothing and accessories was managed, sold in Italy and abroad through a specific website, also exploiting product sales platforms Online. Sales were monitored to customers located not only in Italy, but also in Germany, Slovenia, France, Greece and Denmark.
Among the recipients of today's measure are also some retailers who, after having stocked up on counterfeit clothing from the promoters of the organization, combined it with other legitimate items.
The following have ended up under house arrest:
Aniello Caifano, A 42-year-old man from Pagani is under investigation for: criminal conspiracy, introduction into the country and sale of products with false markings, fraud in the exercise of commerce, sale of industrial products with false markings, and receiving stolen goods.
