Against Covid, probably "by the end of the year we will have an effective vaccine", but from now on, "if we have factories ready, it will take at least another 6 months to start a satisfactory production to guarantee it to the most fragile sections of the population, who must be protected".
A Pierluigi Lopalco, head of the task force for the Covid emergency in Puglia, explained it during Agorà, on Rai 3. As for the possible ineffectiveness of the vaccine, he said: “it is obvious that the virus mutates, but thank goodness it is not a virus that mutates quickly or substantially. The vaccine is also designed taking these mutations into account, that is, they are made by targeting parts that do not mutate, and if it is done, it means that it will work,” he stressed. However, Lopalco concluded, “only when we have the vaccine and have made the most fragile people safe, will we be able to start doing what we did before. But I hope that the life we will go back to will be better than the one before.”
