Almost two months after the start of the COVID-19 lockdown, how have our eating habits and lifestyle changed?
The survey, carried out by the Fundación Dieta Mediterrània of Barcelona (https://dietamediterranea.com/) as a partner of the Interreg-MD.net project (https://mdnet.interreg-med.eu/) of which the Campania Region is the leader, proposes to carry out research on the eating habits and lifestyle of the world population in this particular social condition due to the pandemic.
The questions, translated into seven languages and addressed to adults who voluntarily and anonymously wish to participate, concern the current situation (How many days has your confinement been going on? Has your weight increased or decreased? etc.), rest and quality of sleep, smoking, physical activity and sport (Has your physical activity increased during the confinement?), eating habits (How many meals do you eat per day? Do you think you snack more than before the confinement?), shopping (Do you buy fresh or frozen products? Do you try to buy local products, given the circumstances?), food consumption (Has your consumption of homemade desserts increased during the confinement?)
The information obtained will be entered into a European database, into which other research groups are also merging data from similar investigations.
You can participate in the survey through Scabec's social channels (www.facebook.com/scabecspa/) or through this link: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/SurveyMDnetCovid19202004, selecting your preferred language at the top right of the screen.
The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
The project is led by Dr. Ramon Estruch, internist at the Hospital Clínic in Barcelona and Scientific President of the Fundación Dieta Mediterrània. The research is conducted in compliance with the provisions of EU Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, relating to the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free circulation of data and the Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the protection of personal data and the guarantee of digital rights.
MD.net – Mediterranean Diet: When Brand Meets People – is an international project involving thirteen partners from nine European countries (Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Greece, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Spain, Slovenia, Albania and Cyprus) and aims to involve agri-food companies, small businesses of excellence, and the many tourist and restaurant businesses linked by the common thread of the Mediterranean diet.
