Double robbery in the night in Frattamaggiore, a croissant shop and a tobacconist robbed. Borrelli (Verdi): “In addition to the virus, in phase two we should tackle crime and the lack of work”
“Double theft carried out in the night between Saturday and Sunday in Frattamaggiore. The thieves robbed a bakery and a tobacconist. While people are at home respecting the rules, these parasites take to the streets violating the rules and committing crimes, harming honest citizens. This is, unfortunately, one of the problems to be faced in phase two in addition to coexisting with the virus, crime. It will be essential to put a stop to crime that will try to reclaim “its” spaces, to return to rampant illegality by taking advantage of the lack of work and economic difficulties, two other critical issues that, with the pandemic, have become even more the order of the day.
We need new tools to limit the economic crisis and block crime, which will take advantage of this to strengthen itself in times of difficulty. Just as we will need to protect the environment, which, with the quarantine, has returned to its quality standards, with nature that has shown all its power and splendor. Protecting it, preventing a return to the past, means protecting ourselves." This is what Francesco Emilio Borrelli, regional councilor of the Greens, said, commenting on the news of the two thefts, who publicly expressed solidarity with the merchants who were victims of the criminal acts.
