Travelers on routes that limit contact, turnstiles that block when trains reach the established capacity (a maximum of 120 people compared to the usual 800), more frequency of the twenty bus lines that absorb 65% of passengers and that cannot accommodate more than 20 percent of capacity, agreement with the municipal police to verify compliance with the new rules.
Phase 2 of the covid19 emergency begins tomorrow for Anm, the municipal company that manages public transport in Naples. The company announced that it has prepared phase 2 following the guidelines of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and implementing actions to protect its employees and citizens who need to travel on public transport. Over the last week, stickers have been placed on vehicles and stations to indicate the routes in the subway and funicular stations and spaces for waiting for buses have been outlined on the streets: all the indications are provided so as to respect the social distancing still necessary for phase 2. On board the subway and funiculars, access is limited, reaching, as mentioned, a maximum of 120 passengers for each train. Each station will have only one active turnstile at the entrance and the route of those entering will be differentiated from those exiting the station. When the expected number of passengers is reached, the turnstile will be blocked and it will be necessary to wait for the next train to be unlocked. The same mechanism will be applied to the funiculars. From tomorrow, the circulation times will remain those of phase 1. As for buses, from tomorrow Anm will implement an increase in 20 lines that absorb the greater estimated transport demand. The lines 140-165-181-C12-C16-C33-R6-168-184-254-604-116-151-158-182-191-1 96-669-R2-R5 will be increased. In fact, according to the data in Anm's possession, these lines absorb approximately 65% of daily travellers and will therefore have a higher frequency to allow passengers to wait for the next bus in case of excessive crowding. The rules on the reduced capacity of buses remain, which will be able to carry 20% of the passengers foreseen by the capacity of the single bus. Drivers will be able, as they have been for some weeks, not to pick up other passengers and to skip stops to avoid crowding. The measures in place since March 16 remain confirmed, which concern: the suspension of lines operated with short buses; the suspension of lines involved in transit on the ring road (130-150-180-190); the suspension of all night lines (N1-N3-N4-N5-N6-N7-N8-455-460-475); the contraction of the operating range of all lines to 21.30:XNUMX pm. In recent days, Anm has signed the extension of the Linea Sicura operation with the Municipal Police of Naples. The Company will pay the overtime of the municipal officers who will carry out checks in the stations, on board the buses and at the stops to ensure compliance with the distances and the foreseen capacities. An additional investment has been made by ANM to strengthen private security to ensure that all passengers comply with the regulations.
