They are restaurateurs, barbers, owners of beauty centers, entrepreneurs from different sectors who have joined together in a task force and say: “We are here to give our contribution to the institutions”.
“It’s something that started from the bottom,” Meer explains, “this task force is a group of 30 people representing the entire city of Naples, representatives of sectors brought to their knees by the health emergency.” If, for example, a trader needed more space outside, so as to guarantee the minimum safety distance between tables, the request to the Municipality is a red tape in the request for the concession of the space in derogation. “As far as the Region is concerned,” Meer adds, “we could lend a hand with the ordinances, to make everyone understand what is expected.” Among the requests is “the extension of the redundancy fund until December.” “At the moment,” he emphasizes, “it is expected for another nine weeks and would arrive in mid-July. Unfortunately, however, the situation is complicated and redundancy fund would be desirable, even at 50%, but at least until December.” “On Tuesday 5 May – he concludes – we will meet in a teleconference to draft a document containing a series of proposals to bring to the table of the institutions”
