Phase 2 in Campania, about 70 thousand companies and 12 thousand shops are reopening: 50% of the production sector that according to the latest Dpcm could reopen today. Of the 140.926 companies that can return to production from today, only a few have started phase 2.
AThere are no official data yet, but estimates speak of a threshold below 50%. Slow restart also on the commercial front. Out of a total of 40 thousand in Campania, Confcommercio reports, 10-12 thousand have reopened, a large part in the restaurant sector. The limitations imposed and the costs to be incurred to comply with national and regional regulations discourage many business owners. In the restaurant sector, even those who have reopened are traveling on a turnover of 20% compared to that of the beginning of 2020. Also for this reason Confcommercio this morning brought together over 1.000 companies in a video conference and the discussion revealed the need to bring forward to May 11 the restart of the sectors that should reopen to retail on the 18th. A request that will be formalized to the President of the Region, underlining that, in this very delicate phase, a week can determine the definitive closure of many businesses.
Among the Campania companies that are getting back on track is FCA in Pomigliano d'Arco. In recent days, maintenance workers had returned to work, and since this morning other blue overalls have been added, including testers. Whirlpool had restarted last Monday, after a training period on the use of protective devices and the assessment of the factory's suitability with respect to anti-Covid regulations.
