The Diocese of Naples bans artificial flowers in Confraternities. Malafronte (CPFC): “A choice that goes in the right direction”
“We are pleased to learn of the decision to ban artificial flowers in the Archconfraternities of the Archdiocese of Naples” – said Vincenzo Malafronte, president of the Consortium of Campanian Florovivaists Producers, commenting on the decision of the Diocesan Office of Confraternities of the Archdiocese of the City of Naples.
“A choice that now more than ever has a dual value on the one hand to safeguard the health of citizens, the artificial flowers that permanently decorate the burials become a receptacle for dust and other potentially virulent agents, on the other hand it represents an encouragement towards the floriculture sector, strongly penalized in this period of Covid-19 emergency” – continues Malafronte.
“In this regard, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Cardinal Sepe for having listened to our requests in this moment of great difficulty for all of us” – concludes the President of the Consortium of Producers of Florovivaisti Campani.
