The Covid emergency “has highlighted a whole series of problems that have already existed in Italian schools for years”.
Lor argues, speaking to ANSA, Patrizio Bianchi, president of the task force of the Ministry of Education that these days is working to define the road map for the reopening of schools. “For ten years – he said – we have been saying that the ideal size of a class is 10-12 children, to overcome what, with an expression that I hate, are called 'chicken coop classes'. This could be an opportunity, there are many experiments, also to try to go beyond classes. Then there is the problem of school buildings, which will have to be addressed with a multi-year view, but which we have been carrying around for a very long time”.
