The Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples seized over 2.000 counterfeit clothing items worth approximately 200 thousand euros at a warehouse in the San Giovanni a Teduccio neighborhood, reporting 6 people responsible for trading in products with fake brands of well-known fashion brands.
LThe operation began with a roadside check during which the “Baschi Verdi” noticed a car transporting and unloading numerous plastic bags at a well-known shopping centre.
The subsequent search of the vehicle and the warehouse then allowed the discovery of 6 individuals, all Neapolitans, who had organised a real network for the sale of counterfeit products by advertising the products through the social network pages Facebook and Instagram.
The orders, constantly monitored and collected through a "sales office" equipped with complete and networked computer stations, were then delivered to customers spread throughout the country, mostly unaware victims of the fraudulent sales system, considering the sales methods and prices practiced.
The items of clothing, with counterfeit brands including “KWAY”, “VALENTINO”, “BURBERRY”, “RALPH LAUREN”, “MONCLER”, “GIVENCHY”, were stored and packaged in a warehouse in the San Giovanni a Teduccio district set up inside the wholesale shopping centre, where the Guardia di Finanza also discovered thousands of envelopes from two well-known international express couriers ready to be shipped.
The operation of the Provincial Command of Naples, renamed #Iocomprodacasa”, is part of the constant activity of the Guardia di Finanza to protect the healthy economy and honest businesses, as well as the health and rights of consumers, and confirms that the national emergency caused by Covid-19 does not stop the scourge of counterfeiting, which now more than ever takes place by taking advantage of the current moment of growth of e-commerce and the blocking of the traditional sales system.
