Naples. Stabbings during the movida period for a trivial fight between young people in a club in Piazza Bellini. A boy left on the brink of death. It happened last January. Carabinieri arrest two people for attempted murder.
Following an intense investigation coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Naples - Section VII - the Carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Naples - Center Company have notified an order implementing the precautionary custody measure in prison issued by the GIP at the Court of Naples against two Neapolitan subjects, respectively thirty and thirty-five years old, seriously suspected of the crime of attempted murder against a young man and subjected to preliminary investigations for the crime of aggravated injury against a friend of the victim.
The events occurred on the evening of January 25, 2020 in Piazza Bellini, which at the time was crowded with young people on Saturday night.
Two boys, bloodied and in an obvious state of shock, asked for help from a patrol of the Carabinieri, saying that they had been stabbed shortly before by two unknown men. They were immediately rescued and taken to the nearby Ospedale dei Pellegrini, where the Carabinieri proceeded to carry out the first investigations.
The victims reported that, shortly before the attack, they had gone to a bar in Piazza Bellini with a small group of friends. Inside the bar, a futile argument had started between one of them and an unknown boy: to avoid problems, the group of friends had moved away from the bar. While walking towards the cars, the group of friends had realized that they were being chased by two boys, one of whom was the one with whom the argument had occurred inside the bar.
The group of friends tried to lose the two pursuers who, also thanks to the help of a third accomplice, who is still unidentified, reached and blocked two members of the group, attacking them.
A violent fight ensued during which one of the three assailants shouted to the other two: “GET THE KNIVES OUT!”, then struck the victims with several blows, hitting them in the chest and groin.
One of the young men, hit in the chest, was hospitalized in serious conditions at the Pellegrini Hospital, having suffered a lesion of the pleura.
The attackers then returned to the club in Piazza Bellini, where they remained for the rest of the evening, as if nothing had happened, leaving only after the arrival of the police, led to the scene by the victims' friends. The carabinieri proceeded to interview both the victims and their friends and subsequently to acquire the footage from the cameras placed in the city streets where the brutal attack took place.
From the images, the salient moments of the chase and the attack were reconstructed in detail, as well as the alarming carelessness shown by the attackers when they returned to the premises in Piazza Bellini after having stabbed the two boys.
The analysis of the videos also allowed us to identify two of the attackers who had acted with their faces uncovered. Also fundamental was the contribution provided by both the victims and their friends who recognized the photos of the two suspects.
Furthermore, it emerged that one of them had been checked, a few days after the brutal attack, again in Piazza Bellini. At the time of the check, he had a hematoma on his cheekbone, caused, as reported by both the victims and their friends, during the fight that began in the initial phase of the attack. The suspects are being held in custody in prison for the crime of attempted murder, committed with the use of knives and aggravated by futile reasons.
