Inadequate surgical masks: this would be the cause of the contagion of 4 health workers infected at the Caserta hospital.
The national director of the Saues union, Paolo Ficco, supports this: "The case of the four health workers in the same department of the Caserta hospital, personnel infected perhaps by the same patient who is probably a healthy carrier, demonstrates the urgent need to provide all health workers with adequate and effective protective devices, such as ffp3 or ffp2 masks, given that surgical ones have an exclusively containment function". Ficco said in a note and concluded: "We hope that, also in consideration of the estimates on the high number of infected but asymptomatic citizens, this request is not underestimated as is happening with the one on the ban on the use of masks with valves by the population".
