During the last Massa city council meeting, where the new Convention for the N24 Area was also discussed, that is, the association between the municipalities of Volla, Cercola, Pollena Trocchia and Massa di Somma for the associated management of the interventions foreseen in the Social Area Plan, the opposition Massa city councilors Salvatore Esposito and Vincenzo Boccarusso made their voices heard against the management of the N24 Area.
"We have been asking for greater transparency for years - attacked Salvatore Esposito, group leader of Movimento Cittadini per Massa di Somma - without ever having had a serious and credible response. The N24 Area lacks transparency and even for a city councilor it is very difficult to fulfill his duties of controlling the activity carried out. We have been asking for greater transparency for years but it is clear that those who manage the Area are busy with other things and consider correct access to documents an optional extra".
Councilor Vincenzo Boccarusso also intervened on the issue, and during the municipal council meeting he highlighted several doubts about the Convention in reference to the article that defines the role of Coordinator/Manager of the Planning Office.
"In the Convention - commented Vincenzo Boccarusso - it is recognized the need for the Coordinator to be chosen outside the organic endowment of the contracted entities and that the same is dedicated to the activity exclusively and only on a residual basis can be chosen from among the heads of the Social Policies Sector of the contracted entities; now it is not clear why, in light of the identification of the new lead municipality, the path traced by the convention cannot be undertaken and therefore identify a new coordinator who is dedicated exclusively to this activity in place of the continuation of the relationship with the current coordinator as supported by the relevant councilor".
