Naples. He beat his wife on the street in via Toledo: yet another attack, this time in full view of everyone, has cost the arrest of a 37-year-old Neapolitan accused of mistreatment in the family and resisting a public official.
LThe man was reported by some passers-by who witnessed the scene and alerted the Carabinieri who were checking via Toledo in the centre of Naples on foot.
The episode happened yesterday morning. The Carabinieri of the San Giuseppe station together with those of the Campania regiment arrested AA, 37 years old, for mistreatment and resistance to a public official.
The military intervened to defend the victim and the man first refused to provide his personal details and then threatened them.
The woman – who recently returned home in an attempt to mend their relationship – had already reported her husband: this time too, the argument had started over trivial reasons.
The arrested man is under house arrest awaiting trial.
