Whirlpool Phase 2, concern in the company on via Argine that resumed operations on April 27. And today, another block of the Fca in Pomigliano d'Arco is back to work, with around a hundred test drivers joining the maintenance workers from this morning.
So, the 'tranquility' of FCA, where the assembly lines are still stopped, is contrasted by the 'operativity' of Whirlpool, whose employees before the restart participated in a training course receiving a kit with detergent, gloves and masks. "The climate in via Argine? On the one hand - says Italia Orofino, a worker at the Whirlpool plant - there is the concern of returning to a covid-19 situation that is still not calm, on the other hand there is the fear, even greater, of losing your job, because the company still continues to say that on October 31 in Naples it will stop producing. But we do not give up, we will decide which actions to implement to make our voice heard, always in compliance with the government protocol".
At the FCA plant in Pomigliano d'Arco for the first shift, thirty or so employees from the reliability department have also crossed the gates, together with the workers who returned last week to the molding department. There will be about ninety reliability blue-collar workers who will work on three shifts until May 7, when another 55 workers, again divided into three shifts, will join the colleagues who have already returned. By the end of the week, about 350 employees will be at work out of the more than 4700 employees at the Pomigliano plant and the Nola department. Panda production remains at a standstill.
