“Europe, where are you?”: this is the question that opens “Europe”, the new single by Granato, an electrowave band based in Rome.
Released by Kappabit Music, “Europe” was made during the quarantine, and presents itself as a reflection on the political, social and economic imbalances, already present in our society, but massively revealed during the epidemic period.
«In the days of confinement caused by the Coronavirus, many questions emerge from a simple reading of what is happening: “What is Europe?”; “How close is it to people?”; “Is liberalism, the ideal on which it is based, able to accommodate the demands of a new balance, of social justice and respect for nature?”. What emerges does not seem to be the supranational idea of union, but rather that of a “regional sovereignty” of fragmentation».
“When the disease stops, where will this world go?”
"The prospects for an improvement in the conditions of the world and society are rather hazy. Hopes, however, do not vanish: locked in the house, music has continued to live in us; in isolation, passion has kept us alive; will has made the realization of this work possible; the critical spirit shows us a possible, better world".

The electronic rock that characterizes Granato's style gives this profound reflection an apparent lightness; synthesizers and vocoders, guitars and electronic drums involve the listener in addressing themes and questions that many feel are urgent, in a playful way, also thanks to the fast and tight rhythms, which naturally lead to moving the body and following the time, stimulating our most instinctive part.
The song, accompanied by the three members of the band [Francesco Bianco (vocals, guitar, electronics), Alessandro Cicala (guitar and processing) and Dario Giuffrida (drums and electronics)], was accompanied by bassist Raffaele Errico, who was able to delicately cut into the complex sound of the group.
The music video that accompanies the song (released as an exclusive preview on Onda Rock) is an animated work created by Industrial Television.
