The journalist's testimony in the trial of bosses and lawyers: "Without that book I wouldn't be here"
Gomorrah saved her life. Rosaria Capacchione said this during the trial, which is taking place in Rome, of the boss of the Casalesi clan, Francesco Bidognetti and the lawyers Michele Santonastaso and Carmine D'Aniello, for the threats made in the courtroom in Naples, in 2008, to her and the writer Roberto Saviano.

“Saviano saved my life with his book,” Capacchione said, “and it was a shield for me too. The global media attention on the Casalesi clan, following the success of Gomorrah, has scaled down the arrogance with which the Casalesi carried out hundreds of murders undisturbed. I wouldn’t have been here without that book.”

As civil party, the National Federation of the Press, represented by the lawyer Giulio Vasaturo, and the Order of Journalists of Campania. "Rosaria Capacchione has seen her personal and professional life radically change because of the death proclamation read in court by the lawyers of the Casalesi bosses, during the Spartacus trial - underlined the lawyer Giulio Vasaturo of the Fnsi - It was a very touching testimony. For too long, this courageous journalist was left alone in a border territory. Today in the courtroom, at her side, there were ideally all the journalists with their backs straight". Three years ago, the first-instance sentence was declared null by the Court of Appeal of Naples for territorial incompetence and the proceedings were transferred to Rome.
