Naples, the Gaiola submerged park and the free beach reopen. The Gaiola Park will reopen on Friday, July 3, thanks to a memorandum of understanding between the Municipality of Naples, the Gaiola Submerged Park, the management body of the Park, the Port Authority and the Carabinieri of the Cultural Heritage Protection Unit. This is what we read in a note from the Municipality of Naples.
The protocol was formalized in a council resolution proposed by council member Francesca Menna and approved yesterday evening. The Parco Sommerso, a state marine reserve since 2002 and a place of "culture" since 2004 like other Italian museums and archaeological parks, will be allowed access by reservation through the App downloadable from the site https://www.areamarinaprotettagaiola.it/prenotazione, also linked on the institutional website of the Municipality. This same App is made available by the park management body, directed by Maurizio Simeone, also for access to the public bathing area hosted inside the Parco Sommerso di Gaiola in zone B of the general reserve.
It will be possible to book to access the beach for up to a maximum of 75 people in attendance at the same time for each shift, which are scheduled from 09.00 to 13.00 and from 14.00 to 18.00, the Park will close at 19.00. "The Gaiola Submerged Park is subject to compliance with the government measures for the Covid-19 emergency contained in the Prime Ministerial Decree of 17 May, just as the public beach is subject to compliance with national and regional regulations for the prevention of contagion, it is explained - The Gaiola Submerged Park therefore, due to its structure and legal nature, in order to reopen to the public, will have to simultaneously comply with the current regulatory requirements for the opening to the public of Cultural Sites, Protected Natural Areas, and public bathing beaches, in addition of course to those for the safety of workers, in a single safety plan that it has drawn up.
This plan has been incorporated into the Memorandum of Understanding and the Beach Plan of Municipal Resolution no. 173 of 29.05.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX. In light of this legislative complexity and in order to facilitate the opening process of the Park, with the aim of returning to the citizens an area of extreme naturalistic and cultural value but also a safe place where they can carry out bathing activities, the managing body together with the Municipality of Naples and the Port Authority has drawn up a Memorandum of Understanding that includes all the expected regulations. The Memorandum of Understanding also defines appropriate methods of behavior to be able to enjoy a public good while protecting and respecting natural ecosystems.
Citizens must respect: the ban on bringing disposable containers of any kind into the area; the ban on abandoning waste of any kind in the area; the obligation for smokers to have special portable cigarette holders. All parties will undertake to disseminate these methods of access and behavior in the context of the "Zero Waste" principle in line with the purposes of the Park and the cultural principles that inspire the Department for the Protection of the Sea and the Administration as a whole.
