Naples, attempted robbery of a man at the Centro Direzionale: 42-year-old arrested. The Carabinieri of the Naples Poggioreale Station arrested for attempted aggravated theft LD ., a 42-year-old local man already known to the police.
The victim – a 68-year-old – was walking his dog in the pedestrian area of the Centro Direzionale when he was approached, with the excuse of a cigarette, by LD Attracted by a shoulder bag that the 68-year-old was carrying, the 42-year-old followed him and, taking advantage of a moment of distraction, grabbed the strap of the bag. The victim's reaction was immediate and his screams attracted the attention of the security personnel of the Center who then contacted the Carabinieri.
LD, who failed to steal the purse, fled on foot but luckily the soldiers were not far away. Identified and stopped, the 42-year-old ended up in handcuffs.
Judged in the courtrooms of Naples, he was sentenced to 8 months of imprisonment with the benefit of a suspended sentence.
