The Carabinieri of the Casoria station arrested Antonio De Rosa, a 33-year-old local man already known to the police, for cultivation and possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing.
Too many people were hanging around the 33-year-old's house and that's why the Carabinieri wanted to look into the matter. Having searched his home and its appurtenances, the military, together with the Carabinieri of the Sarno dog unit, found in a room used by De Rosa a real artisanal greenhouse, perfectly organized and efficient.
Lighting and irrigation systems, fertilizers and various growing materials, a drying tent and a list (posted on the wall) containing the fertilization plan for growing plants with instructions for correct flowering.
12 marijuana plants, 12 stems of plants already deprived of inflorescences and 64 grams of dried marijuana were found and seized. But the military checks did not end in the "greenhouse". The Carabinieri found and seized 53 grams of marijuana from unknown persons that were stored inside a mailbox inside the condominium where the 33-year-old lives.
During the operations, the military also discovered that De Rosa and 5 other families, who live in as many apartments in the building, had an illegal connection to the electricity grid: 6 people reported for theft of electricity. The Carabinieri of Casoria together with personnel from the electricity distribution company therefore found that De Rosa – with the illegal connection – not only powered his home but also the greenhouse. The arrested person was taken to prison awaiting trial.
