Ten minutes of nightmare for Napoli and Atalanta scores two. Atalanta beat Napoli 2-0 in the penultimate match of the thirtieth matchday and definitively secure fourth place and with it qualification for the Champions League. Both goals came at the start of the second half with Gosens (47th) and Pasalic (55th) making any hopes of Napoli useless. At the end, the VAR disallowed a goal by Milik.
LAtalanta's goal machine did not stop, reaching 82 goals in the second half. Gomez (always exceptional) stirred the waters by setting up Pasalic for the goal that unlocked the game. Then Gosens doubled the score. It was not an exceptional match, also due to the sultry heat. NAPOLI seemed to be in better form, but suffered from the injury of Ospina, replaced by Meret. Atalanta lived off Gomez's inventions, but basically there were few outlets in the first half. In the second half the game changed and Papu was decisive. NAPOLI reacted, but the first ten minutes of the second half were decisive.
At the start of the second half, after 2', Atalanta got going and a cross from the right by Gomez (record assists: 15) found Pasalic alone in the center of the area, ready to put it in the back of the net on Meret's right. In the circumstance, NAPOLI's defense snored a bit. At 10' the doubling on a network of Nerazzurri passes with Castagne and a decisive pass by Toloi for Gosens who scored from the left.
The entry of Lozano (Mertens) and Milik (Insigne) enlivened the Napoli action and Gollini had to save on Lozano, who created several dangers for the Nerazzurri defense. Fabian Ruiz put the ball out that would have reopened the game. Palomino took the place of Caldara; Callejon (Politano) and Lobotka (Demme) were the substitutions for NAPOLI who tried with Koulibaly's header. After a goal by Milik was disallowed for offside, Gasperini brought on Hateboer. Muriel, Tameze and the debutant Sutalo also came on. The ending was NAPOLI's, but the game was decided. Atalanta did not steal anything.
