“We have to get out of the house. It's the only way to overcome fear”: Massimo Ranieri is ready for a new tour after the forced break while in the fall a television challenge awaits him, a surprise on Rai3, and the release of a new album.
The lockdown for the Covid-19 pandemic was a time of isolation and reflection but now the 'singer-actor' is preparing to return to his audience "with uncontrollable enthusiasm" despite "the stress and human fear that we carry inside ourselves". It is no coincidence that the show, a renewed version of his highly acclaimed show, is titled 'Sogno e son desto... Oggi e' un altro giorno', a nod to Gone with the Wind but with particular attention not to tomorrow but to the present. Ranieri with his music from Naples and beyond will be back on stage for the first time on July 25 in Montalto di Castro at the Arena Teatro Lea Padovani. He will see his orchestra again (Flavio Mazzocchi on piano, Andrea Pistilli on guitar, Pierpaolo Ranieri on bass, Marco Rovinelli on drums and Donato Sensini on wind instruments) three hours before the concert to do the sound check together on his repertoire of stainless and tested hits.
The new album is expected to be released in the fall, preceded by the unreleased 'Mia ragione' presented on the Ariston stage at the Sanremo Festival, with arrangements by Gino Vannelli. Ranieri will also be the protagonist on the third Rai network. "With Gualtiero Peirce we are imagining a project with the aim of bringing my audience from Rai1 to Rai3. It will not be a variety show with glitter - he concludes - but a more confidential musical program, suitable for this historical moment".
