Newborn baby dies in Irpinia, autopsy ordered and medical records seized. A baby born in the hospital of Avellino and transferred after a few hours to the hospital of Benevento died from respiratory complications.

The baby was born on Sunday morning with a natural birth and the mother, a 42-year-old from Nola, is still hospitalized in the gynecology and obstetrics department of Moscati in Avellino. But immediately after birth the baby presented respiratory problems. The doctors therefore ordered the transfer to Benevento for the necessary treatment which however proved useless. At dawn on Monday the baby went into cardiac arrest.

The parents immediately filed a complaint with the Avellino prosecutor's office, claiming that the Irpinia hospital did not provide adequate care. The provincial command of the Carabinieri have already acquired the medical records of the child and his mother. The little body is at the disposal of the Avellino prosecutor's office, which will assign the task to a medical examiner for the autopsy and evaluation of the medical records. The task will be assigned as soon as the notices of investigation are notified to the doctors under investigation.
