"In the Productive Activities Commission we have summoned the parties involved in the Maccaferri dispute in Bellizzi, a leading company in manufactured products to combat hydrogeological risks. Management, local institutions and unions have discussed the future of the Salerno plant in light of both the economic difficulties of the group and the short-term market prospects. Although no issue has been resolved regarding the fate of the 40 workers involved, we will continue to represent the requests and complaints from the territories in every venue", underlines regional councilor Michele Cammarano.

"Our battle alongside workers will not stop until we can guarantee everyone's work - insists Cammarano - I thank the support of MP Anna Bilotti who questioned the Ministry of Economic Development on this matter, in particular on the risk of losing a strategic asset for our country. Safeguarding the territory against hydrogeological risks must be a priority of environmental policies at every institutional level. In addition to environmental protection, we must also protect constitutional guarantees, including the right to work and, in the specific case of the Maccaferri workshops, the competence and professionalism of the workforce who are now at high risk of dismissal: a heritage that must not be dispersed, but on the contrary strengthened in the context of a broader policy for the safety of the territories".
