This morning, the Prefect of Naples, Marco Valentini, chaired the observation table on urban security at the I Municipality, in the presence of the Councilor for Urban Security, Alessandra Clemente, the President of the Municipality, Francesco De Giovanni di Santa Severina and the local heads of the offices and commands of the Police Force, the Municipal Police and the representative of the Deanery.
Today's meeting is the eighth in a series of meetings scheduled by the Prefect at the
Municipality of the capital, aimed at concrete comparison with the territory and with the needs and
citizens' expectations. The 1st Municipality is made up of the districts of Chiaia, Posillipo and San Ferdinando and is a metropolitan area with a particular heterogeneity that arises from the coexistence of highly residential areas and popular areas.
The activity of the law enforcement forces present in the territory is particularly intense, with frequent coordinated operations of control of the territory with “High Impact”, with the participation of the local Police.
The phenomenon of movida represents one of the most significant problems in the area,
object of attention in the constant attempt to reconcile the needs of the operators and the right to liveability of the residents. Other issues explored in depth were those of the homeless, of illegal parking attendants and of new spontaneous aggregation phenomena, which disturb the public peace.
The Prefect highlighted the importance of dialogue and collaboration between all the actors in the territory, in order to implement concrete actions in favor of the citizens, operating in the perspective of participatory security, in which each interlocutor must offer his own contribution to the resolution of the problems on the table, beyond the presence and the capacity for intervention that the FF.O. guarantee.
