Ryanair cuts 3.000 jobs and slashes pay by 1/5. Ryanair is planning to cut 3.000 jobs and slash staff pay by up to a fifth in response to the Covid-19 crisis, which has severely affected global air travel.
The airline said it was cutting 15% of its 20.000-strong workforce as it did not expect passenger numbers or prices to return to pre-coronavirus levels until the summer of 2022. As part of a programme of drastic cost-cutting, Ryanair said it may close a number of bases across Europe until air travel resumes.
