He died after two days of agony in hospital and a delicate surgical operation to reduce a large cerebral edema.
Emanuele D'Agostino, 41 years old from Sant'Antimo, in the province of Naples, was seriously injured last Sunday in an accident along the A16 motorway between Avellino Ovest and Baiano. An elderly couple from Treno had hit the motorbike of the 41-year-old who was thrown to the ground for several meters. The rescue was immediate, the man was also resuscitated on the spot by the 118 paramedics and then transferred to the Moscati hospital in Avellino, but even the surgical intervention for the serious head trauma proved useless. The elderly driver of the small car involved in the accident is now being investigated for road homicide.
