Quarto. Illegal waste disposal in a boat shed in Quarto: a two thousand square meter warehouse, one hundred pleasure boats, jet skis and boat engines seized.
NDuring an operation carried out in Quarto to combat the polluting phenomena of the Land of Fires, the maxi seizure was ordered. The police also discovered that 6 employees worked in the warehouse, all illegally, one of them was also a recipient of the Citizen's Income. The man was reported together with the managers who must answer for the lack of a single environmental authorization and for illegal waste disposal.
The control activity started from the Prefecture of Naples in agreement with the Phlegraean municipality in execution of the Terra dei Fuochi Legality Protocol signed in July 2018. The checks on nautical companies and storage facilities present in the area between Pozzuoli, Monterusciello, Quarto and Licola were attended by teams of the municipal police and municipal technicians, military personnel of the Army, Carabinieri of Pozzuoli and Quarto, the air section of the Guardia di Finanza of Capodichino and the Roan of Naples-Mergellina. "Thanks to the collaboration between various departments of law enforcement and armed forces and our technicians, an important intervention to restore legality has been carried out, also in environmental matters - underlined the mayor Antonio Sabino -. Thanks to the synergies of the bodies responsible for control, the Memorandum of Understanding signed against illegal building and pollution is thus fully implemented".
