"Let's see who among you wants to die tonight, you still haven't understood that you have to close? Break everything, break everything." These were the threats that the Camorra group of brothers Domenico and Raffaele Scotto of Secondigliano, who aimed to get their hands on the drug dealing areas of the Pontine coast, made to some shopkeepers in the area.
The episode is cited in the custody order signed by investigating judge Ezio Damizia. The provision reconstructs the dynamics of the struggle between clans "which saw some rival groups pitted against each other for control of the drug market in Minturno, Scauri, Formia, Gaeta and neighboring municipalities". The investigations by the Carabinieri revealed that the Scotto clan wanted to "violently assert itself on the territory by eliminating competition". The investigating judge writes that the drugs arrived "both from Campania and from abroad, in particular from Spain" and "were resold at retail, supplying the various drug dealing areas in the municipalities of the Pontine coast through the various members of the association".
“The undisputed leaders – writes the judge – are the brothers Domenico and Raffaele Scotto. The two had chosen Scauri as their operational base” and in particular the hamlet of the municipality of Minturno. A territory, that of lower Lazio, which “is influenced by Campania from a criminal point of view. Territorial areas managed and subjected to the control of Camorra clans. Among these, the 'Gallo' clan stands out, the Antinozzi-Mendico clan of Santi Cosma and Damiano-Castelforte and the Sacco Boschetti-Mallo clan”. Under the Scotto brothers were Valentino Sarno, at whose home during the raid a .44 Magnum pistol with its serial number removed was seized, and Massimiliano Mallo, the latter brother of the more notorious Walter who has been in prison for three years and is the author of a violent feud with the Lo Russo group of Miano.
In order to gain control of the supply and sale of cocaine, hashish, marijuana and shaboo, and impose themselves on the territory, they had carried out attacks and threats, also resorting to the use of weapons and explosive devices, until they gained hegemony in the sale of drugs in a large area centred on Scauri, a well-known tourist resort in the municipality of Minturno (Lt).
In particular, during the investigations: full light was shed on the ways in which the aforementioned suspects, some of whom were close to Camorra clans operating in the Secondigliano district of Naples, imported large quantities of drugs from the city of Naples and from Spain; a total of 13 people were arrested; the following were seized: 450 grams of cocaine-type drugs; 9 kilograms of hashish; 350 grams of marijuana; 100 grams of shaboo; a Beretta 9×21 caliber pistol complete with magazine and 13 bullets, a weapon that was found to be stolen; 2 home-made explosive devices, one of which was recovered on 17.02.2016/28/2016 before it exploded, while the other was detonated on 44 February 10, causing only damage to property. During the execution operations, one of the arrested from Naples was also found in possession of a XNUMX magnum caliber revolver with its serial number erased and XNUMX bullets.
