“Dear President De Luca, also think of us deaf people, who have the right to communicate, and provide masks with transparent film to doctors and public employees”.
This is the appeal launched on Facebook by Anny Tronco, deaf since birth, resident in Caserta and for years a point of reference for the Caserta deaf-mute community with the association "Alphabet", a non-profit organization for the deaf of which she is president. Anny, with words and sign language, addressed "as a citizen" to the Governor of Campania, reporting what happened to her at the post office, where she was unable to communicate with the employee at the counter because the latter did not want to lower her mask or write on a sheet of paper.
“I am a deaf citizen of Caserta, and yesterday I had a big problem at the post office. The employee was wearing a mask, I told her my problem asking her to write to communicate, since she didn't want to lower her mask to let me read her lips; but this woman was bored of writing, so I had to scream like a madwoman, the director came and apologized. The employee then lowered her mask”.
“President – writes the head of the non-profit organization for deaf and dumb people – you gave free masks to all the families in Campania, why didn’t you think about us too, providing masks with transparent film to doctors and public employees, to allow us deaf people to communicate too? If you had a disabled child, how would you have communicated with him? “Think about it – concludes Anny Tronco – it’s a serious problem. You told Salvini that he’s an ass. And you? You’re insensitive, you don’t even think about it”.
