Whirlpool Naples: 9 possible buyers of the Naples site but none could absorb all the staff.
“Despite the significant negative impact of the lockdown on the activities that had been started, we have received, even if not in a binding and fully detailed manner, 9 potential intervention hypotheses”.
In fact, there could be 9 potential buyers of the Whirpool site in Naples that the multinational has been intending to sell for months. These are "preliminary demonstrations" of which however only "about half confirm their interest and are continuing to deepen their hypotheses". Buyers who would be in line with the industrial sectors already present in the area, industry and technological innovation even if no one alone would be able to absorb all 420 workers of the site but "operating for industrial clusters and activable supply chains, could represent the solution expected for Naples".
And "after the discussions, about half confirm their interest and are continuing to study their hypotheses in depth". This is what Invitalia indicated at the meeting convened at the Mise on Whirlpool. As stated, "none of them alone appears to be the solution capable of absorbing the entire workforce, but by operating with industrial clusters and activable supply chains, they can represent the expected solution for the enhancement of the professional skills of the Whirlpool staff in Naples".
