At the Flumeri (Avellino) headquarters of the "Industria Italiana Autobus", the Municipality of Naples, with a technical commission, has begun testing 11 new buses destined for the ANM. After registration with the motor vehicle authority, they will be put into service starting from the end of September.
The delivery of 11 vehicles, which began in 2018, completes the purchase of 67 new buses, carried out by the City Council with funds from the PON Metro (National Operational Programme for Metro). The first 56 were delivered to ANM Napoli and put into service starting in November 2018 (20 for lines in the western part of the city and 36 for the central-eastern part). The 11 new vehicles will renew the bus fleet and replace obsolete vehicles for lines in the central-eastern part of the city.
"All things considered," says Deputy Mayor Enrico Panini, "if we add to these the 53 buses delivered in July by the Campania Region, ANM's fleet reaches the threshold of 120 new buses less than a year old, which represent 'over 40% of the company's daily trips.'"
