The State Police arrested a 76-year-old pensioner, resident in San Nicola la Strada, for the crime of attempted murder. The man is accused of stabbing his neighbor several times following an argument that began in the garage and then degenerated; there is no love lost between the 76-year-old and the victim, aged 52, and in the past, it emerged from the initial investigations, the two neighbors, who live on the third and fourth floors of the same building, had already had arguments.
The police officers of the Flying Squad of the Caserta Police Headquarters learned of the incident from the hospital, where the attacker and victim had gone; the officers led by director Luigi Ricciardi discovered that the two had started arguing in the garage, over a parking issue, and then the 76-year-old went into his cellar to get a knife with a long, rusty blade, and repeatedly stabbed his neighbor in the face and head, causing deep cuts. The relatives of the two and other witnesses confirmed the bad previous relationship between the two neighbors. The 76-year-old was also held in the hospital because he has a heart condition; he should then end up under house arrest.
