Cava de'Tirreni. Hospitalizations in intensive care at Cava hospital have been suspended, as doctors and nurses from the delicate department must move to the Covid departments of Ruggi and Da Procida where there is a shortage of staff.
Yesterday, the new appeal to the Government by the President of Campania, Vincenzo De Luca to underline the serious shortage of health personnel and the failure to send promised doctors and nurses to our territory. "This morning, with a communication signed by the General Management of the Ruggi d'Aragona University Hospital - declared the mayor Vincenzo Servalli - without any prior information, it was ordered, in light of the worsening of the contagion situation, the "temporary suspension for the entire period of the emergency" of the resuscitation activities of Cava de 'Tirreni, with the transfer of the staff to the hospital "Da Procida" entirely dedicated to the management of Covid 19 patients.
The choice, undoubtedly linked to the dramatic situation we are experiencing, is on the other hand, the simplest and most immediate, but also the one that very clearly expresses the state to which the Italian and Campania healthcare system has been reduced, with a company that is forced to devour itself to deal with a serious problem. From the same communication it is clear that the presence of an anesthesia service for emergencies will be guaranteed at the Cava de'Tirreni facility".
