Closure of Fonderie Pisano and publication of the Spes study: this is the request of the signature collection campaign launched by parents from Salerno and the Irno Valley
A signature collection campaign has been launched by a group of parents from Salerno and the Irno Valley and the Salute e Vita Association, to request the closure of Fonderie Pisano and the publication of the SPES study.
"We believe - declares the president of the association, Lorenzo Forte - that the mobilization of such an important component of civil society cannot fail to make the recipients of the petition reflect, which opens with a heartfelt letter from a mother concerned about the health of her child. It is the story of a morning like many others in which you wake up enveloped by the acrid, nauseating, ferrous smell coming from the Foundries that pervades the city of Salerno and the municipalities of Baronissi and Pellezzano and that accompanies the children until they enter school. The cry of alarm is for them who, in the hours in which the Foundries release their miasmas, go out to go to school."
“The letter was signed -concludes President Forte- by many parents who have children in schools of all levels in the three municipalities involved (Salerno, Baronissi and Pellezzano), which makes us reflect once again on the vastness of the area on which the Foundries have an impact. The situation is even more alarming now in the Covid-19 emergency, because as we have had the opportunity to write several times, fine dust acts as effective vectors for the virus.”
The petition, in just over 48 hours, has almost reached the milestone of 500 signatures. The Association's goal is to obtain much higher numbers.
