Coronavirus in Naples: morning queues at Frullone for swabs and an empty afternoon.
“We are monitoring the situation at Frullone where, since the early hours of the morning, there have been queues and gatherings of citizens to take the swabs. We contacted the general director of ASL Napoli 1, Ciro Verdoliva, who explained to us how many citizens even arrive at the facility at 5 in the morning to then be the first to open. A senseless choice, there is no reason to create chaos and kilometre-long queues in the morning. The swabs are carried out until 18 pm and, Verdoliva told us, even until late in the evening if necessary. Furthermore, once the congestion of the early hours has passed, the situation stabilizes. From around 11 am, the waiting times are much shorter. It therefore makes no sense to compete to see who gets the first place in the morning, you just need to act with common sense and intelligence to avoid queues and gatherings”. This was stated by Francesco Emilio Borrelli, regional councilor of Europa Verde, who is monitoring the swab situation.
"The surge - added Borrelli - in infections has pushed many people to Frullone without the indication of their doctor. This is not good. Before taking the swab on your own initiative, perhaps without a real need, you need to talk to your doctor who will give you instructions on how to behave. There is no point in panicking, responsibility is needed to ensure that things go well. About 1000 swabs are done every day at Frullone."
