Pozzuoli. Another ten positives: unfortunately the number of infections continues to increase. There is also one recovered.
Pthe mayor, Vincenzo Figliolia, was worried, and in communicating it on his institutional Facebook page he wrote: “It was something that was partly foreseen, also looking at the events in European countries, but perhaps we did not expect that the growth and spread would be so rapid. We believed or wanted to believe that we were out of it. We believed it because we were good. But perhaps it was precisely this that made us feel too safe, to the point of forgetting to respect the basic rules to avoid going back.
What is happening, what is happening in schools, was also partly expected: when they reopened, infections were already starting to pick up again, between holidays and homecomings, parties and family and friend reunions. The protocols and regulations arranged and rigorously implemented could and are certainly limiting the spread inside schools, but they cannot prevent the virus from entering. We must all certainly do more and we must do it better, fight to keep the country open and what is its founding element, school and education”.
He then explains how he intends to proceed at a local level: “I intend to request a meeting with the heads of the ASL and the crisis unit of the Campania region to better understand how much the epidemiological situation requires further precautions to be taken, in order to decide what is best for the protection of everyone.
I will evaluate all the actions to be taken to safeguard everyone's safety. In the meantime, I do not ask you, I beg you: let's all adopt more rational behaviors. It is no longer just about health, but about the economy and the future of everyone".
To date, in Pozzuoli, there are 283 inhabitants in total who have contracted the coronavirus since the beginning of the epidemic.
