“A lie is that the beds are running out. It's not that if the beds at Cotugno run out they're gone everywhere. As of today we have 771 Covid beds, just over 530 are occupied. We have 52 intensive care admissions, in practice half are available today. The news is that over 90 percent are asymptomatic: they wouldn't require hospitalization but this data is destined to worsen.

Aincreases the average age of positives and we have two new elements: opening of schools and the start of the flu season which sooner or later will produce hospitalizations. That's why we started first with the vaccination campaign. No one gave this information". This was stated by the governor of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca in the usual social live. And then he added: "Those who have no symptoms must go home, not occupy places to do the isolation and final swab. You go into home isolation except for cases of particular need for which we are equipping the Covid residences. We are equipping for simple hospitality".

And again: “The information must be correct especially when connecting from Naples I would be grateful if information enriched with elements of drama was not given. Serious work is being done. Let's start giving the first information: in two months the Region has done a prevention work that no one else has done. We started on August 12 with an ordinance with a mandatory swab for those returning from abroad. Since then we have identified 3 thousand positives. Then we carried out 90 percent of serological tests on school staff while the national average does not reach 60 percent. “Then we decided already fifteen days ago to make masks mandatory outdoors, the government is deciding in these hours. As always in advance. Then we provided as a Region to the thermoscanners for schools. 1.500 have already been delivered. Then we decided in advance compared to the others to close the bars at 23 pm and put a limit of midnight for movida. Campania did in advance what others did not do. We carried out widespread and rigorous prevention work because we knew we would have the problem”.
