An outbreak of covid19 has developed inside the retirement home of the Istituto Povere Figlie della Visitazione di Maria, in Naples, in via Colli Aminei. This was learned from sources at the regional health facility.
Inside the residence there are currently 48 positives, out of 225 swabs carried out yesterday. The positives are almost all asymptomatic except for a few who have non-serious symptoms, such as a little fever. The ASL is monitoring the residence and has intervened to isolate the positives, create paths that separate them from the negatives and ensure the safety of the residents.
The Poor Daughters of the Visitation of Mary Institute where the covid19 outbreak developed in Naples with 48 positives is a mixed residential, social and socio-health facility, organized into 3 separate modules on three different levels. On the first floor there is the Community Care Home which hosts 39 users and 16 nuns, on the second floor the RSA Anziani which has 40 guests and on the third floor the hotel house which hosts 38 people. After having ascertained the outbreak, the health authorities transferred 3 positive guests of the Hotel House to the first floor, where all the other positives are, in order to confine all those who have the virus on the same floor and limit contact with the other floors as much as possible.
Potentially infected direct contacts were left on the same floor in separate rooms from those who tested positive for Covid. The routes between the various floors were further differentiated and the personnel assigned exclusively to the first floor were defined and provided with protective devices, while all areas were sanitized and access was closed to relatives and visitors. Religious functions were also suspended.
