Coronavirus, Guerra: 'Vaccine by the end of the year? Likely'.
The announcement by Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio that the first doses of a vaccine against the coronavirus will be available by the end of the year “is plausible.” This was stated by Ranieri Guerra, Deputy Director General of the World Health Organization and member of the Technical Scientific Committee, speaking on 'The Breakfast Club' on Radio Capital.
“I think it is plausible,” he explained, “because there is one of the vaccines that has completed the experimental phase” which demonstrates that “the vaccine, in addition to being harmless, is also effective. The dossier has been prepared and sent to the Drug Regulatory Authority 10 days ago; I imagine that the procedure will happen very quickly. If the authorization is granted, then,” he concluded, “it will be exclusively an industrial problem, of commercial diffusion.”
