Coronavirus, general practitioner in serious condition at Cotugno.
A general practitioner is hospitalized in Naples in serious condition due to coronavirus. The doctor has been replaced, as expected. In fact, if a general practitioner is unable to work and cannot find a replacement, the relevant ASL is notified and will take action. The Italian Doctors' Union, Smi, had denounced, in a letter sent to Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and Minister of Health Roberto Speranza, the case of 6 general practitioners "infected, one of them seriously, in a neighborhood of Naples, due to vaccination practices and the chaos of gatherings" and "three medical practices were closed due to the impossibility of finding professionals to replace the owners who were quarantined". The Crisis Unit reported that for 5 of the 6 doctors mentioned by the Smi, "there is no communication" for a request for replacement.
